In Praise of ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Ameerul Mu’minin

An emotional account of the honour granted to Islam and it’s followers in its early, tumultous and secretive years by the great sahabi, ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, radiAllahu ‘anh. A man who was known for his bravery, piety, taqwa, accountability and justice. We ask Allah to raise us with the Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and the rest of the companions and ahlul bayt, may Allah be pleased with them all.

Delivered by my “homie” Hasib Noor, a student at the Islamic University of Madinah originally from Texas, USA. This was part of a tour given to a Hajj group visiting Madinah in October 2013 in which Islamic and Madinan history was brought to life through stories, account and recollections from the Seerah and Ahadeeth. The homes of various sahaba in relation to the current masjid were highlighted as well as a history of the various parts of the masjid itself.
